Colours And Graphics
Aprilia launched their first scooter, the SR 150, last year and they have kickstarted 2017 with the launch of a Race version of the same. The Aprilia SR 150 Race gets an addition of new Maze Grey body colour, RS-GP graphics, reworked exhaust muffler and an optional race kit over the stanard model. The wheels and rear damper are painted in red while the front brake calliper is finished in gold paint.Whereas the Aprilia SR 150 Race Edition has been given a premium treatment as it comes with a totally fresh colour scheme in comparison to the standard SR 150.
The Aprilia SR 150 is having 220mm front disc brake that pairs with a 140mm drum brake unit at the rear. Though there is no change in the brake specifications in the new scooter, a golden coloured calliper at the front disc brake lends a premium and upmarket appeal to the Race Edition of the SR 150.
Handling And Ride Quality.
SR 150 is endowed with 120 section tyres, on 14 inch rims, at both ends. Aprilia’s suspension setup.The SR 150 comfortably absorbs those bumps, which jarr the rider’s spine whereas in Aprilia SR 150 race edition the riding position is pretty traditional and you sit as you would on any other scooter. Unlike the Vespas, the SR 150 has a fully flat floor with two recesses in the front to house your feet.
Aprilia SR 150 comes with 150cc SOHC air colled four stroke engine.This sporty scooter has 11.4 bhp whereas the Aprilia SR 150 Race Edition, as the name suggests has been developed for delivering more performance than the base SR 150 model. For this reason, the 154cc, single cylinder engine in this new scooter has been tuned in order to extract better and bold performance numbers
Tyres of scooter
Aprilia says they are working with MRF and if the performance requirement is met then the SR150 could switch to MRF tyres in time. The scooter wears an extremely dignified metallic grey shade that forms the perfect backdrop to Aprilia’s trademark bright sticker wor whereas Aprilia SR 150 has 14 inch tubeless tyres the scooter has 220mm front disc brakes and 140mm rear drum brakes for tyres.
Red shock absorbers and alloy wheels
The Aprilia SR 150 Race Edition has been bestowed with red coloured twin shock absorbers at the rear. Not only this, the alloy wheels have also been given the same visual treatment. In comparison, the alloys in the standard SR 150 come drenched in black colour.
Aprilia SR 15 is priced at 65,000 (ex showroom, Delhi).The booking amount ranges from Rs 2000 to Rs 5000, varying from dealership to dealership.The Aprilia SR 150 Race Edition is available for sale at INR 70,288 (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi), thanks to the added features on offer.
The warranty period for both Aprilia SR 150 and Aprilia SR 150 race edition is 2 years time..
